Here at Rare Rootz we offer every potential client a consultation. The consultation provides us with an opportunity to meet each each other and discuss your hair needs and desired style. During the consultation you will be given an appropriate price for the service your interested in, recommended treatments as needed, a review of our cancellation policies, and a short bio of my experience as a natural hair care professional.

Starter locs are the foundation of your locs. Starting your locs here at Rare Rootz will ensure equal loc sizes throughout your head and correct locs sizing for your particular curl pattern & desired look. Traditionally we use either brick-lay pattern, Random, or diamond partings and coils to start all locs clients.  Maintenance is necessary every 3-4 weeks as needed to keep your coils from loosening and to keep your roots looking neat. 

Our Loc Groom and style services include shampoo, a full tighting of the roots using  the palm roll technique,  with a Aloe and water-based Gel, and setting you under the dryer until locs are dry. Most clients add a loc style to this service. **(If you are a new client please book a introductory consultation first before booking this appointment)**

Loc touch ups are great for clients who need a sprucing in between regular loc maintenance visits. Clients scalp will be oiled and moisturized, the first 2 rows of locs will be groomed, and usually accompanied with a loc style or updo. **THIS IS LOC STYLING ONLY**

Our Loc Groom and Double Twist services include shampoo, a full tighting of the roots using  the palm roll technique,  with a Aloe and water-based Gel, while  double  twisting your locs before setting you under the dryer.

Our Loc Groom and Goddess Ponytail service includes shampoo, a full tighting of the roots using  the palm roll technique,  with a Aloe and water-based Gel. Your Locs are then gathered up into a side ponytail where perm rods are places on each locs. Rods are used to create curls.  Dryer time is usually 90mins. 

Our Loc Groom and style services include shampoo, a full tighting of the roots using  the palm roll technique,  with a Aloe and water-based Gel. Each loc is then set with perm rods to create curls. Dryer time is usually 120mins.

Our Loc Groom and Pipe Cleaners services include shampoo, a full tighting of the roots using  the palm roll technique,  with a Aloe and water-based Gel, and wrapping the locs with pipe cleaners to wear as a style or set for curls.

Our Interlocking/Crocheting & Style service include shampoo, a full tighting of the roots using our interlocking/crocheting method,  with a Aloe and water-based Gel, and setting you under the dryer until locs are dry.  Our  Interlocking & Rodset service include shampoo, a full tighting of the roots using our interlocking/crocheting method,  with a Aloe and water-based Gel.  Each loc is then set with perm rods to create curls. Dryer time is usually 120mins.  **(If you are a new client please book a introductory consultation first before booking this appointment)** 

Sunday's and after Hours Only!!! Must Call in prior to booking service. This will not be available on the schedule. This VIP Grooming service is priced at $125.00 **Please be advise this service does not include pipecleaners, rodsets, or any add on services**

Instant Locs is a method of back combing, crocheting and interlocking the root. These techniques form to create tangles and knots from the core of the loc that's being created. Consultations are required prior to booking this service. The price shown for this is the starting price ONLY

 All our Loc extensions Services include Shampoo Service, Loc Extension (in your desired length) & Install Service. Loc Styles are extra. Deposit must be made prior to booking.

 The process involves reattaching your old locs. The price varies based on the amount of locs to be added. Cost includes shampoo and conditioning and a basic style. 

 Do you have damaged locs? Are they in need of serious help? With our Loc Reconstruction & Renewal  service, we will add to the existing broken Locs as well as enhance the thinner Locs. This process will make all of your Locs look as if there was never a problem to begin with. Loc repair services start off at $300-up. This service includes: *herbal shampoo & conditioning *light massage therapy *loc maintenance giving them a fresh and neat retouched look * the addition of hair to the thinning are

 This services is priced per individual locs.  This service is for locs that are still attached only. Repairs are $5Per Loc. 

Loc Prunning is trimming away the fuzzies on the surface of our locs. Loc prunning creates a clean and neat appearance along the body of our locs and on the ends as well. Loc prunning is a great way to jump start your health loc regimen.

 A Loc trim can consist of 1-6 inches of dead ends that needs to be trimmed away. Trimming of the locs insures a consistent length of your locs growing at the same length, and removal of any dead ends  that causes our locs to have different length cycles over time.

With this service you will receive the works! Enjoy a shampoo deep conditioner treatment and your hair blown out. This service does not come with any styling. Styling must booked as a add on. 

25 minutes

 Flat two strand twists will be applied using a moisturizer along with an oil & setting lotion mixture. Once dried, the twists will be taken apart leaving an elongated wavy pattern. Style can last up to two weeks. 

Tired of wearing that fro? Do you want to see how long your natural hair is? Get the look and feel of having straight hair without the harsh burns of the creamy crack. 

 Coils are applied via use of a styling comb and can be left in or pulled apart for a fuller look. Those with curly textured hair will resemble the look of spiral curls vs kinky coils. Style can last up to 3 weeks. 

 The process involves parting the natural hair into sections and applying two strand twists. A moisturizer will be used. Style which can last up to 4 or more weeks. It can also yield many styles. 

(No hair added)

 This updo is beyond basic.  Turn heads everywhere that you go with the intricacy of your braids. Natural hair can be sexy, corporate and chique. Best thing is you can wake up and go. Save an extra 30 mins in your day with my hassle free hair do. Style can last for several weeks. Hair can be added to make style last longer. **Prices may increase based on your style of choice, please consult with stylist before booking your appointment.**

The process involves parting the natural hair into sections and twisting hair into a form that resembles a knot. Style which can last up to 3 weeks. ** Prices vary if hair needs to be added to this style**

 This is the removal of the processed (relaxed) or damaged hair. This services comes with a herbal shampoo & conditioner. ***If a style is required please select the style along with booking this service*** 

  Must come already shampooed & conditioned. If a style is desired please select the style along with booking this service. 

 Take the lifeless shape out of your natural hair. Your hair will be cut into a precise style which will include coils, curls or a style to compliment the look. Giving body and balance to your crown. 

 The natural hair is spiraled on rods using a moisturizer, oil & setting lotion mixture. This style takes on various looks depending on your hair texture. This is a great style for those who are transitioning from a relaxer. 

   Take down service. Prices range depending on the extent of the style 

Our hot oil treatments acts like a spa for your tresses, helping to strengthen your hair and prevent dry, brittle hair and split ends. Hot oil treatments are also useful for helping to stimulate blood flow, as well as helping with hair growth. 

 Steam treatments help to deep cleanse the scalp and fight the buildup of dirt and product that we accumulate through styling and exposure to the elements. A clean scalp encourages hair growth and steaming stimulates blood flow in the scalp which also helps growth. 

 Enjoy an extended scalp massage to detoxify the scalp, while stimulating the senses and increasing blood circulation to promote hair growth and relaxation.

Our Loc Detox & Herbal Treatment will  remove oils, residue, and product buildup hidden within and on the surface of our locs. Leaving your locs feeling lighter and a much cleaner scalp. After your detox you will receive a soothing herbal hot oil treatment to restore back you hair pH moisture.

Our deep conditioning treatments feature many benefits. It restore the hair's natural shine and luster. It also moisturizes the scalp, which reduces itching and flaking. Our deep conditioning treatments are designed for dehydrated, color- or chemically-treated hair, which has a tendency to become dry and dull.

A application of color to the new growth area  of the hair meant to cover gray or to match up the color  on the ends. this service is great for maintaining your color.

Double Process full color on locs, is typically used when lightening hair by more than two shades. First the hair is bleached to remove natural or colored hair pigments, and then pigment is added into the hair to create the desired shade

Partial highlights  are usually placed around the front perimeter of head to brighten up your look from the front.

Full highlights  are usually placed around the whole  entire head to brighten up your entire look

Custom coloring & Color  blocking is used the technique simply refers to using two or more shades to color hair in large sections, or blocks. The results of color blocking can range from very bold to very subtle depending on the pattern and color choices.

Color stripping is a process used to rid the hair of unwanted deposited color. Such as semi permanent color, or rinses.
